Buffet arrangement at sunset over Angle Lake, WA

I began my work as a floral designer back in 2003 after returning home (WA) from living for a year in Maui.  I had graduated from UW with an Art degree and wasn’t quite sure where to apply my talents.

I’ve always LOVED flowers and been a sucker for weddings!  In the fall of ’03 I attended my cousin’s wedding and was enamored by the floral design. Daniela Ferdico-Faget, of Bella Signature Design, was behind it all.  Not only had she done the flowers and décor, she was coordinating the wedding too!  I thought she was wonder-woman, so I applied for a job to test the waters for myself.  Oh my gosh!  Undoubtedly the toughest job I’ve ever had!  Stress, long long hours, heavy lifting, sensitive product, high maintenance clients, working every weekend…. need I say more?  I guess I wasn’t cut out to be a floral wonder-woman after all!

Since moving on from business with Bella, I have designed both of my sister’s weddings, most of my close girlfriends, and now many are through friends-of-friends or word-of-mouth.  I do it because I enjoy it, and there’s nothing more satisfying to me than the look on the bride’s face when she sees her bouquet for the first time or when the couple walks into the venue to realize their visions have come to life!
